DAVIESS COUNTY, IN – Three people lost their lives early Monday, May 27, due to a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 69 near southwest Washington.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident took place near 56.5 mile marker, just south of West 400 South, at around 4:49 a.m. Multiple area fire departments, EMS crews, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, the Indiana State Police, as well as two tow crews, all joined the DCSO at the scene.
An investigation remains in progress, but officials confirmed that all three decedents were traveling in one vehicle.
First responders rushed the driver of the second vehicle to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where their condition remains undisclosed.
As of Tuesday, an investigators were still working to determine the identities of the victims and notify next of kin.
No charges have been reported at this time.
