HAMILTON COUNTY, IN – Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Westfield that claimed the life of a juvenile and left three other people injured.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene in the area of 206th Street and Six Points Road at about 5:12 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound when its driver ran a stop sign, causing the vehicle to hit a Honda Odyssey van that was heading westbound through the intersection.
The crash also came to involve a Kia sedan, causing all three vehicles to come to rest in a field off the roadway.
Several were reported injured, including the van’s juvenile driver and their juvenile passenger. Both were rushed by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital, where one victim was later pronounced deceased.
The Kia’s driver and their passenger were also taken to Riverview Hospital with unspecified injuries.
No charges have been reported at this time, but an investigation by the HCSO’s Crash Reconstruction Team was underway.
