Narrative
MARION COUNTY, IN – One person died Friday evening, July 12, after being ejected from a car during a hit-and-run collision in northeast Indianapolis.
The incident was reported at the corner of East 30th Street and Massachusetts Avenue, at about 8:00 p.m.
Local police said a passenger car was heading northeast on Massachusetts Avenue when a silver 2014 Chrysler 200 emerged from the connector of the intersection and into the direct path of the victim car, resulting in a crash.
The victim, who was ejected from the struck vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following the impact, the driver of the Chrysler continued away from the scene, leaving the Chrysler’s front bumper in the roadway. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southwest on Massachusetts Avenue.
An investigation and search for the hit-and-run driver remains underway.
