Narrative
WAYNE COUNTY, IN – One person was rushed to a hospital Saturday evening, April 6, after being struck by a car during a two-vehicle collision in central Richmond.
The Richmond Police Department said the accident occurred at the intersection of North 8th Street and North A Street at around 6:30 p.m.
Preliminary details show a black F-250 pickup truck was heading southbound on North 8th Street at the same time a white Chevrolet pickup truck was going westbound on North A Street. Eyewitness testimony and video footage indicates the driver of the white Chevrolet failed to stop at a red light, causing the vehicles to collide at the intersection.
During the two-vehicle crash, a pedestrian was hit by the black F-250.
First responders had the victim transported to a local hospital, from where the patient was later taken by airlift to another facility.
An investigation remains open and ongoing.
